Poem for DICKY

He went by the name of DICKY
It was as though God was taking the micky
He was doing so well
Was here 10 years before he fell,
DICKY the Dartmoor Cross Cob

DICKY was the friendliest horse ever
Never would you see him bite, never
Everyone loved him
He was intelligent, not dim
DICKY the Dartmoor Cross Cob

DICKY was such a strong fighter
When he was ill, I hugged him even tighter
He was popular with the girls.
MISTY and COCOA were his pearls
DICKY the Dartmoor Cross Cob.

I remember before he went
I gave him more biscuits than I had ment
But I'm sure he didn't mind
God – he was so kind
DICKY the Dartmoor Cross Cob

He'll always be in my heart,
Never will he leave it,
His spirit lives on
For ever and ever
DICKY the Dartmoor Cross Cob.
